About the Event

The Eco-Tournament is an exciting and innovative event aimed at promoting sustainability, environmental consciousness, renewable energy, climate change adaptation, recycling, non-motorized transportation and green jobs. It brings together various challenges such as the MTB XCE (Mountain Bike Cross Country Eliminator) competition, Recycling Challenge, Tree Planting Challenge, and Renewable Energy Puzzles. The event is scheduled to take place on the 16th of December 2023 at a 120,000 SQM resort, with a vibrant lake in Abuja starting at 9 am.

Objective
The primary objective of the Eco-Tournament is to raise awareness about sustainable practices, green jobs, inspire environmental stewardship, and foster a sense of competitiveness among participants. By engaging in different challenges, participants will have a unique opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge while championing key environmental causes.

Competition Details
The Eco Tournament comprises various teams that would compete against each other in various challenges through out the day. The challenges include:

MTB XCE Competition A thrilling Mountain Bike Cross Country Eliminator competition where participants showcase their biking skills on a challenging track designed to test speed, agility, and endurance at the resort
Recycling Challenge: Teams will be tasked with collecting and sorting recyclable materials in a given timeframe. The team that collects the highest volume of recyclables and demonstrates effective recycling practices will emerge as the winner.
Tree Planting Challenge: Participants will be engaged in a tree planting activity, aiming to plant the maximum number of trees within a specified time period. This challenge emphasizes the importance of reforestation in combating climate change and promoting a healthier environment.
Renewable Energy Puzzles: Teams will solve puzzles and brain-teasers related to renewable energy sources, promoting knowledge about clean energy alternatives, and their role in sustainable development.
